Winter Jam
WHAT IS WINTER JAM?
In 1982, a few youth directors and pastors from north east Ohio got together to brainstorm for a way to bring area youth together, to connect with each other and with God. They were looking to create an opportunity for youth to have an encounter with Jesus. As a result, the Winter Jam Retreat began. During the 80's periodic Winter Jam Retreats were held. Then, in 1992 some of those same pastors got their youth groups together at Camp Wanake for what would become the first annual Winter Jam Retreat.
Now, 15 years later, Winter Jam is still hosting separate retreats for both Junior High and Senior High youth - providing young people with sound Biblical teaching and a fun atmosphere for spiritual growth.

Speakers
SPEAKERS:
JH: Our Junior High speaker will be Youth Leader, DAVE JOHNSON. Dave is a dynamic speaker and has spoken at numerous youth rallies and retreats (including JHWJ 2003). Dave served as a Youth Pastor in Michigan for many years. When he’s not playing the violin, welding or perfecting the role of janitor, he’s spending time with his wife and kids. Dave has a vision to bring teens closer to God and is excited about the opportunity to speak.
SH: Our Senior High speaker will be ELI DORMAN. Eli is Pastor of Fairhope United Methodist Church in Louisville. He spent many years as a youth evangelist, speaking at summer camps and weekend retreats (including Winter Jam & CYF Camp). Eli never met a Mountain Dew that wasn’t worth drinking. He once took part in a tag-team sumo wrestling competition in which he and his partner were destroyed. Eli has a passion for Christ and is equipped to bring the message of Jesus to youth in relevant ways.
